MJON-productions (New Creation) was founded in 2007
when four (4) young men of Jamaica Council Church of God Seventh Day came together
after an all night prayer meeting held at the church. While Odane played the keyboard, Mikhail, Jero,
Odane and Nickoy began writing lyrics which became their first written song, titled
“I need you now.” They stayed back that morning, after the long all night prayer
to perfect the song and officially decided on forming a band. Prior to this the
four young men were offered music lessons taught by Clive Wallace complements
of the church and Franklin Edwards. They, amongst a number of other young men,
all hastily ceased the opportunity and began learning music. The short music
course was rigorous but only the four endured until they were able to play confidently
for the church. Now they serve as the full time musicians of the Jamaica
Council Church of God Seventh Day. God has blessed these young men; their talents
have been developed in such a manner that they are now capable of not only playing
for different bands and events but are also teaching music to the next generation.
MIKHAIL (Guitarist / Bass player) he began his musical journey learning music and practicing on the bass guitar at his home church (Jamaica Council Church of God Seventh Day) along with the fellow band members. He taught himself how to play the guitar using his basic music foundation from playing the bass. Mikhail realized his knack for music and decided to continue to increase upon his knowledge and utilizes it fully for the Gospel of the Lord. He plays for The Jamaica Council Church of God every Sabbath, City Missions Pentecostal when in Florida as well as other Seventh Day Church of God branches in Florida (particularly the Opa Locka Branch). He continues to expand upon his talent and hopes that the heart of man and most importantly the heart of God will be blessed by his music ministry.
JERO (Vocalist/Drummer). Before he actually began music ministry, he
believes God already ordained him a musician from his mother’s womb. He initially
attended a Sunday church near to his home where he was active in the choir
ministry, singing with the youth choir for 1 year. Jero began singing but he
wasn’t very confident and was also extremely shy. Jero left the Sunday church and
began to attend Jamaica Council Church
of God Seventh Day where he developed his love for music. Every Sabbath, Jero would
sit at the back and pretend to play the drums in mid air. Jero decided to get
baptized at Jamaica Council Church of God Seventh Day and to indulge in music
ministry fully. He joined the children’s choir and sang with them for 2 years.
Jero began to develop his singing techniques and matriculated to the youth
choir. In 2007, Jero began to play the drums where he played next to different
musicians such as Damion Campbell, Nickoy Mais, Odane Mais, Mikhail Myers and
the late Ramiesh Folks. Jero plays drums for his Church, A.S.A.P.H ministries
led by Neva Campbell and for MJON production (New Creation). He vows to do his
ministry in season and out of season and believes he has potential for much
greater things to come.
